If it fits you, go for it.
Nice "old school" Cannondale.

Thanks Homebrew! I probably will pick it up, it seems to be in good condition. I see a lot of people mod these bikes, I can never seem to leave anything alone haha.

Good bike for a tall person. $140 as-is is a great price, even if the frame is cracked. I would lower that stem, though.....

Still learning
Objective advice, what to look for, and expert opinions are what's needed by noobs. Spreading unsubstantiated idle comments is unwarranted.

Im 6'3, the guy is going to bring it to work to let me ride it. If I like it Ill probably does some research and components and switch some stuff out. I was read the rear rim spokes break a lot.

My point was this; even if there is some major problem (cracked frame, lousy wheel, worn derailleur), the value of the componenets alone would be well worth the price. I bought a similar bike last fall, and it cost me $250 (with no real issues).
However, that stem looks like a cheapie aftermarket piece, and would be the first thing I replaced.....

There was a period of time, just before threadless stems became common, where welded stems were commonly fitted by bike companies. I picked up a '99 Trek with one. Even if they're original, they're still fugly.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

Before you ride it, look at the part of the stem that is going down into the fork.
If you see the words "Minimum Insertion" either lower the stem so you cannot see the words or be extremely careful riding it.
The stem looks way too high and may be just barely in the fork. Good luck - she's pretty!
