HRM and Cadence Sensor Signal Drop on Rides
Hi,
I own an HRM and a magnetless Cadence sensor and I noticed on long rides, there's a tendency for the sensors to lose connection to my bike computer, is this normal?
Especially the cadence sensor where it drops signal regularly (once or twice in 40km, the last 40km of a 160km ride, it just kept disconnect and reconnecting that I just gave up trying to make connect) and won't reconnect unless I stop pedalling for 1-2 secs. The HRM started to cause an issue on rides longer than 120km where it loses signal, though I find tapping on the unit or just pulling the unit (hence moving the strap) seems to help it reconnect.

Weak battery? Minor water ingress?
What make/model are your sensors and how long have you been using them?

Magene from China, had them for about 3 months now and already replaced the battery for the cadence sensor once.
The HRM was very reliable, so I was surprised to encounter issues during the 160km ride, the cadence sensor has issues even during an 80km ride so I was expecting issues during a 160km.
Hmm, there's O-Ring seals and when I open the device up, it seems very dry.

At this point I'm tempted to say poor quality or defective product and contact the manufacturer... but hopefully someone else might think of another possible reason/solution.

Haha, I don't blame you cause I think the same way too, but I did read that some people who own Wahoo or Garmin magnetless cadence sensor having similar problems as well and is checking this forum if they're people who face the same problem as well.
