Thanks for the update Bryan. I'm looking forward to it when it is done ! Having worked in print shops as well as a fine art lithograph place, I know these things can be a bear sometimes.

Cheers,
Joe

+1. My Dad always taught me never to invest money I can't afford to lose. I really want the book, and I'm hoping it arrives soon, but if it doesn't I haven't lost my faith in humanity.

Thanks OttoRax for the update! I'm pumped to see the poster, but i'll wait till the books are done. Speaking of books, I missed out on that unfortunately. If anyone does want to back out, I may want to buy up a book if possible.

The book is done! Picked up the final (approved) proof copy yesterday and signed off on the complete order. Should be about 10 days until I take delivery. In the meantime, I'm addressing all the envelopes and tubes so everything can get shipped out ASAP. thanks for all the patience.

Cover shot teaser (it's held together with a binder clip because it is the unbound proof).

It's good to see a dear project coming together, they seldom happen overnight.

All shipped, but I can't say how long it will take - depending on your location. I know the USPS has been incredibly slow lately. I just got a part into the shop that was sent parcel post and left California for North Carolina. It took 19 days. I certainly hope it won't take that long since the holidays are winding down. But books are on their way.

Have you sent out orders that only got the poster too? I'm just curious if I should be on the look out. Also, I have moved...... so, not sure if you got my new address or not. I'll probably still get it if it goes to the old address, since we still own that house too.

Hmm.... not sure if I want to see pictures or not. Definitely excited to see it, but maybe I want a surprise? I bought the Rivendel poster last year, which is mostly beautiful. I was a little off put by the rasterized look of the art.... especially since I work in a prepress department.

So will this Illustrated Drop-out Guide see a shot at a wider audience than the initial release?

edit: some of us are forever late to the party.

Received my book today. Looks great! Wish the poster was sent in a tube. I'm not sure the folds can be flattened out well but maybe this is a simple fix for a framer.

Mine arrived today but sadly it was damaged in the mail. The poster was ruined and the book's kind of chewed up too. The Post Office's fault, of course - they even wrapped it in a bag that said "WE CARE" and had an apology on it. I'm kind of bummed out but the book looks good!

Got my Illustrated Bicycle Dropout Guide book and poster today but I was surprised by one of the dropout selections. Let's see if you can pick it out.

That's not the actual poster is it? You have to be kidding if it is folded.

Reads to me like the posters got folded up. The line art appears better than I expected on the plus side.

I would be into that deal (or an added price for shipping and tube?) too as I planned to frame mine.

That is a shame as I intended to put mine up in the house. The folding relegates it to garage or basement workshop instead of being a nice piece in the living room, or bedroom or something.

Haven't got mine yet, but will like it no matter what.
My cycling posters go in the garage, and I'll iron it under a folded bandana, with steam, then frame it.

I'm hoping Mr. Rax can make it to the NAHBS, so I can buy him a brew.
It wasn't a for-profit undertaking, and having the book and poster is better than not, for the price of high-end coffee for a couple of weeks.
I will enjoy having a bike poster that few others have, same with the book. Makes me feel "elite," hah hah.

Between prints of the NYC Marathon, other nice ride posters, and the bike art that's come to me via BF C&V, my office walls now look great.

I agree, the folding is a REAL bummer. I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can iron it out, but I don't think that should have been a problem in the first place.

Ran out of tubes? Certainly cheaper to buy and post envelopes.
