Mid school build - '97 Schwinn Super Stock

I'm building my first BMX bike from a 1997 Schwinn Super Stock frame I got on craigslist for $40. It'll be used for street and messing around mostly, nothing crazy as I am just learning.

Full 4130 frame, 1 1/8 straight head tube, American BB, V brake mounts, 26.8mm seat tube.

I am putting an S&M Pitchfork on it with a standard EC34 Chris King headset. I also have a period correct Schwinn Six Shooter stem coming from ebay, and some S&M Hoder bars. Other component choices are up in there air.

The only 26.8 seatpost I have in my parts bin is an NOS Dura Ace 7410, the NJS labeled one made by Easton. Am I stupid to consider using a road seatpost on this or will it not matter?

I guess if it were me I'd consider a new Kalloy UNO seatpost. I've used them on two road bikes and they are quality. Send me the Dura Ace 26.8 for my 85 Allez frame hanging in my garage haha.

Seriously though, I have very little bmx knowledge and I'm just here gathering info for the 91 Predator I'm building up for my stepson. Your build sounds cool and I'll be checking it out.
