Yeah. The bigger the drop, the more space you want to be able move your body mass around to smooth your takeoff and cushion the drop.

Quick release comes in really handy. If I start getting into some really technical trails, I'll sometimes dismount and drop my seat an inch or two. If I see something particularly tricky I want to try, I'll drop it quite a bit more.

it's easy. compress the front suspension, pull up using the rebound and essentially wheelie drop right off. look out for landing though, drop your seat..... seat-nut-gouch sandwich is NOT fun.

It depends on the size of the dropoff. I don't do larger ones. For 2 footers or smaller when moving I just stand up, compress the front, pullup while doing a hard pedal stroke to mid position, lean back slightly, then wheelie (small one) off it and use my legs for added suspension. I have a FS bike, it helps to absorb the landings. Try not to land with your weight over the front, you don't want to go over the bars. Practice on small curbs and as you get smoother keep moving to bigger curbs, then maybe some low ledges if you are comfortable.

I use it everytime i hit a bump at speed, especially in corners. Helps keep my wheel on the ground.

Ride up to the drop at the right speed, get your arse over the back of the bike and just ride off. No need to pull up, just weight the back of the bike so you travel through the air level. either land very slightly nose first (if you have speed), both wheels at the same time or slightly back first. As you don't have as much leg movement for compression I would land very slightly nose heavy. In an XC race I don't think anyone will stop to lower their seat.

If John Tomac could win DH races on this bike with this set up, then people should be able to drop 2ft without lowering their seat.

thx for the tips hopper, really good cause im having difficulty landing with high seatpost. How to avoid nose dive? I bring my butt to the back but I ended up feeling like im going to dive and sometime, my body ended up parallel to the bike. If I bring my butt too back or stand up with my weight behind, I will end up slipping from my seatpost (downhill style)

Scoot way, way back at first. Practice going over street curbs and exaggerate by scooting so far back your chest is touching the saddle. Once you can do that comfortably, move to bigger drops and find the appropriate amount of weight shift for your speed/height.
