Ortlieb Bike Packer Plus - Which Color?
I have the misty grey Surly CrossCheck:
I was thinking grey to match, but would that be visible enough? Or should I go with red?

I normally go with the most obnoxiously visible color available whenever I'm choosing a bicycle-specific item.

Black would be stylin', but go with yellow for the real world.

IMHO, the point isn't to be noticed by the drivers, but to be noticed _and_ categorized as cyclist inside the brain of the driver. Pedal/ankle reflectors and wheel reflectors are great ways to convey that message when seen from the side, a yellow pannier less so.

Grey and grey. How drab and depressing. I would go with yellow if you are looking for high-viz, or red for something striking and will look nice together.

I have had the yellow back roller classics for more than a year now and they are pretty visible from the side and especially so from the front and rear because of the reflective material. However, I am selling this set to a friend and buying a full front and rear set of classic rollers from Wayne at thetouringstore.com along with a new front rack. Planning on taking a tour come January when I graduate from college. The new set of panniers will be blue because I think that it is a prettier color. I was fine with yellow but I just think that blue will look nicer.

Grey panniers with your grey bike would be kind of fugly. Black less so. Maybe instead of matching the panniers to the bike you can match the panniers to your cycling clothes!

Red to match your tires
Got a whole color scheme going on: main color - gray. Top color - black. bottom color - red

It is down to red and yellow. I was going to buy from Wiggles, they were $144 last week, now $204. Should have just bought whatever color at the price.

I went through the yellow vs. gray dilemma on these exact panniers. Ultimately I went for the yellow and could not be happier! They performed flawlessly on tour and helped me to stay seen. Bright colors work better than reflective material in daylight, IMO.

Believe it or not, the BD bike was a champ on tour. 2 weeks, 1,000 miles on an aluminum frame and carbon fork. Not a single mechanical issue. I did replace the drive train beforehand, however.

Your bike is screaming out for some color. Get red to match your tires.
