Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Merry Christmas LBS

I took my bike in for service on Saturday, and they did a lot of work for me and discounted some of the parts and labor for me. I try and do this right before Christmas, to give them a little business before Christmas, and to also drop off some 12 oz. presents. This year has been a very poor year for me, but here is what they received from me yesterday.

What have you done for your LBS lately**********?

First off I have been trying to figure out where/how to get fat tire down here in FL since I moved back from AR. I went to a place last night that has 32 beers on tap and over 300 bottles and that didn't have anything by new belgium.

My shop has a new owner, and they have been doing a lot of remodeling. I offered to do some remodeling work for them, so they have me working up a bid for a few things right now.... I would call that something good for both of us.

It is slowly working south. I know in Tennessee they thought you could only get it in quart containers. Once we brought them a case and they showed it to their local places they went after the distributor and they are working on it.

Is it any good, or is it just 'cute'?

I've ordered a bunch of stuff, that they've since forgotten about, that I'll end up getting online anyway.

Yay lbs.

With the amount of money I spend at my LBS, I'm thinking that they should buy ME a Christmas gift!

Pizza and beer. And they got to watch me build myself a wheel, which provided as much amusement as the food and drink.

I agree, but I also bought some stuff on-line, because my LBS is over an hour from my town to theirs. But, they are the only LBS that treated me like a person, so they got all of my business. I think if the others would have known that I also sent four other people to the other LBS to buy bikes, parts and service, maybe they wouldn't have treated me crappy. So, they treated me good, so I am trying to do the same.
