The bike needs nothing. The photos were taken before I cleaned it up. It has an Avaset leather sadle, Blackburn rack and all alloy components. I got is as a spare bike. 225.00 or best offer. Thanks

MEN's Schwinn Paramount PDG Bike - $200

I spoke with the seller, and he says it's a 1991 model. Didn't know the frame size, but it was purchased for his 5'4" wife, so presumably on the small side. Claims she rode it a few times and ever since, it's been sitting in the garage and is - according to him - in perfect condition without any rust, scratches, etc.

On the local craigslist, even much used Schwinn Paramounts seldom seem to show up for $200. So does this qualify as a find? (I honestly don't know, as I'm woefully ignorant when it comes to '90s era Schwinns.)

Vintage Dura Ace wheelset built with Matrix heat treated tubular rims. 32H. The hubs accept a 6/7 speed threaded frewheel. The hubs and rims are in excellent condition without any markings on the rim sidewall. Tires are glued and in decent conditon. These wheels would complete any vintage build or single speed/cyclcross ride. Call 781 632-2892.

Chrome! 23" Schwinn Voyageur 11.8--a vintage classic! - $100 (Boulder, CO)

Finally selling off my Schwinn Voyageur 11.8. It is in good shape--it's just too darn tall for me. Everything works, and it rides well--though I don't think you'd want to race it. Terrific for cruising around on the trails. The seat tube measures 23".
If memory serves, it was one of Schwinn's flagship bikes from the early '80s. Please email me a time to see it/pick it up.

I'd love to help but cannot. If I wasn't leaving town tonight I'd buy it for myself for trade bait!

This is probably THAT one the guy was on here last summer gabbing about. IIRC, he was asking our opinions of his bike, looking for a value, then got pissy about how little we thought it was really worth. Does anyone else remember this?

I remember that and I remember as well the guy being a bit pissy about his bike. But I guess it takes a different sort to keep a bike like this locked up inside for 32 years without being ridden. Poor bike...

More brain cells started working.

IIRC he was/is a car dealer who took the bikes in on trade for a car.

Here's an archived thread I found: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=281201
Here's a link to some catalog scans from that thread: https://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/conti/

https://cnj.craigslist.org/bik/1281321559.html
I got the conti today. Thanks for the heads-up, JunkYardBike!

It's actually not a high end bike. The campy derailleurs are Gran Sport. Most everything else is made by Ofmega, i.e. cheap copies of Campy good stuff. The bike is in sorry shape, with lots of rust. I was thinking of flipping this, but I think my daughter and I will fix it up and she'll keep it. The ride is absolutely superb. It's tight and balanced and stable. The bike is super light. She'll be very pleased.

I've cranked up my bike shop hobby a lot, and my 17 year old daughter is learning from me. We're having a lot of fun.

I didn't even want to bargain with the seller. I usually see if I can get lower than the asking price. The seller is a super nice guy and has a full life, and I didn't want to take advantage of his situation. For $90, I can't complain at all.

That looks like a nice bike if you could put it back together in original shape...too bad he parted it all out.
