Univega Maxima handlebar needs a 22.2 or 23.8 mm brake clamp???
Hi There,
Im trying to figure out if the handlebar for my Univega Maxima came with a 22.2 or a 23.8 mm brake clamp since Im in the market for a new brake pair with extensions.

Get a set of digital calipers. If you spend any time at all working on old bikes, you'll wonder how you ever got along without one. If only for the seat post sizes alone, it's worth the $15-$20.,,,,BD

More than likely the 23.8mm.
But levers with extensions? Are you talking about turkey levers? You don't need or want them.

You could do the modern acceptable alternative, and get a set of aero brake levers, and some cross(interrupter)levers. MUCH more tasteful, and actually looks cool. I've yet to do a set myself, but have been wanting to. They work way, way better than the old turkey winged levers.,,,,BD
