saw this winner today
26" mtb department store frame
26" coaster brake rear wheel
20" bmx front from a girls bike
duct tape reflectors from the hardware store
****ty 3 color spray job
including priceless conversation between owner and other fred about how he loves it, and how its so light, and how he wants one of those "cool color front wheels"
i was stuck behind this guy for like 3 miles on a one lane street, not only was he going incredibly slow but every 100 feet he would look back to see if i was still there, friggin weirdo.

But there's something strangely utilitarian about riding something like that. I don't know why but it seems a lot more forgivable than an aerospoke on a MB or sawed off carbon fiber drops on a street bike.
I wouldn't be caught dead on something like that - but for some reason I can picture someone like my out of touch father doing something like this. He's a jack of all trades but knows nothing about bikes and I can totally imagine him pulling something like this out of his workshop and saying "check this out!"
Who knows, maybe I'm just in a good mood today.

I'm probably alone on this but - ghetto frankenbikes like this aren't really "jackass" to me in the spirit of this thread.
Ugly? Yes.

Things like multiple sets of bar end extenders all bolted together to get an upright position, bum bars, generally cutting things up, welding crap together, using mop handles for handlebars, etc. all push even the most utilitarian build into jackass territorry, IMO.

It's like comparing a truck with a home-made wooden tailgate, bare steelie wheels, and duct tape holding the mirrors on VS. a lancer with lambo doors, gaudy body kit, giant useless wing on the back etc.
They're both "jackass" but, the latter is infinitely more hatable.
