I'm a little surprised he admitted it with pending criminal charges in France.
At his age, however, it may be a rational decision to do the mea culpa, beg for mercy, and get the clock running on the suspension.

"During the Tour they took a lot of samples (from me), they made 10 tests in about 13 stages, two were positive and in fact in theory all the tests should have been positive therefore the method needs to be checked," he said.
so the tests are flawed, piepoli got away with a stage win, how many others were able to get away with it. and i'm still baffled by cadel's great recovery on stage 10 after the supposed horrific crash in stage 9. it really is the tour de farce.

Probability of detection and false alarm rate are inexorably linked.
The way to reduce the number of false negatives is to increase the number of false positives. Do we really want that, though??

Cooperating with the authorities fully means no jail time and a faster end to his suspension. He'll have to reveal his source for the CERA.
I'd like to see the people supplying the drugs get busted with jail time and fines. How hard would it be to audit where every bottle of epo, mircera, etc. goes? Some doctor in BFE dispensing 10,000 times more epo than any other doctor would have some 'splainin' to do.

Thanks we already have a know-it-all, and roller blading is incorrect, it's technically in-line skating.
So if something that is american can come from anywhere in North or South America, how would you say something or someone is from the USA?

When you say America...people arent thinking Uruguay. Like when you say, "Hey I'm going to New York for a week" people dont think you're going to Ithica. You're going to the city. We were and still are (at least for awhile) a global superpower so claiming status is just a fringe benefit. Until Uruguay becomes a superpower.

Yeah his career is done. He will do his best to drag the bad processing and handling of samples into it and basically try to at least throw a lot of doubt into the test results. He basically said he was doping through the whole thing. It sucks but hopefully we will see improvements on the testing and sample handling process.

Question is... what's going to happen with his 'naturally high hematocrit' certificate issued by the UCI...

Ricco is 24 years old. He'll get a two year ban. He can ride for a Continental team for the next 2 years and be back in the TDF at 28.

He gave the typical "just one little mistake" explanation, that dopers give when they're faced with insurmountable evidence against them. Saying that the only time they doped was when they got caught...

Or, could be much longer, as it seems ASO can now exclude him for as long as they want, without even having to tell him for how long he will be excluded.
Or, he may do jail time and never be able to sit on a bicycle seat again.

I'm surprised he admitted it, but glad he did.
FWIW, German news uses the formula US-Amerikaner to denote Americans from the United States as opposed to Americans from Uruguay, one time soccer superpower.

He's owned up quicker than 95% of the other riders to get caught, and for that he's starting to get a smidgen of my respect. And he raises a good point that he should have been caught sooner if the test was a solid as it should be, but he's declining to contest the result anyway.

Did he MURDER?
Or are terrible things going to happen near his ah-noose to him during his stay?

This is one of the most RIDICULOUS, ignorant, idiotic,
time and money wasting objectives of police and governmental agencies ever pursued.
Un-f**king believable to think it happens (The jack-o** judge who sentenced Marion Jones to six months should be thrown off the bench) How insane to put a track and field star in jail for using ped's. What a HUGE waste of tax payer money)
For what? Oh we're going to teach her a lesson and set an example...
are you f**king kidding? What a bunch moronic a-holes we have running our
governments. It's not like we have anything more pressing and worrisome to
take care of around the world and here in the U.S. no...Phhht.
What middle east crisis? What energy crisis? What famine? What?
That's all fodder...the real issues are athletes doping! Yea.
It's part scare tactics of course, but to have that card to play by irresponsible,
ego driven, maniacal governments and authorities is so completely out of control.
For F**K's SAKES! It's just sports people-
It's only games, and we are talking jail time???!!! F**king Insanity.
