Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

I just impulse-rented a Lauf True Grit

I'll bet the majority of the harsh ride you experienced is due to the tougher tires and the fact that the Lauf is a stiff carbon gravel race bike. If you're used to a laid back, extremely upright (looks like 0 saddle to bar drop) steel touring/gravel rig with ultra-cushy Compass tires and a wide Brooks saddle pretty much anything is going to feel harsh.

Also, I feel Lauf fork is likely hype. Undamped suspension is largely worthless.

Looks ugly to me. Stick with what works for you.

Thanks for the review! I wondered how well an undamped spring might work in the real world. (They don't work very well on a car or motorcycle. Why would a bicycle be different?)

The "professional" reviewers all acted as if they loved these forks. But then, they act as if they love EVERY product. Again, thanks for a competing viewpoint!

It's good for micro bumps but big stuff air suspension is best like the Lefty Oliver, MRP Baxter, Fox AX. The Baxter is $640 right now at Jenson which is not a bad price at all.
