Ride the Drive - April 23 anyone?

https://www.nps.gov/shen/ride-the-drive.htm

Have hotel reservation for Saturday night. Anyone else partaking in this ride?

31.5 miles of park road closed to motorized vehicle traffic! Will be there with my son.

I plan on riding with a couple of friends. It is "sold out", but registration was based on number of cars so if you know someone that successfully registered maybe you can be +1 in their car.

Should be a nice ride but weather may be a little chilly. Long climbs since it starts from the valley floor and goes up onto the ridge. Wish I still had the legs. :-)

I plan on leaving my vehicle at the hotel, which is a half mile from the entrance to the Drive.

Man I am jealous. I grew up there but wasn't a real rider them and never rode Skyline Drive. One day I'm "going home" with a bike and ride that beautiful road. My dad was born back there in 1913 and helped build it according to family history.

Should be a fun ride. I am a little concerned with my ability on the up hills. Down hills no trouble! LOVE going fast!
