Hello, I am the owner of a 1983 Univega Specialissima (same frame as the famed Miyata 1000) that I purchased new in the spring of 1983 in Cambridge, MA from an excellent Univega dealer. It has most of the original components (Suntour, etc.) on it. I need to confirm the size, but I think it is either 52 or 54 cm. Cosmetically, the frame has a number of paint scratches but no dents or rust. It has always been stored indoors.

Between 1983 and 1987 I put about 1500 miles on this bike. Since then, it has only been ridden a total of < 100 miles. I have had it tuned and cleaned periodically through that time.

I will be checking it out in detail and posting more notes and photographs this weekend.

This is a very good bike for someone who wants to do a restoration as there are few additional parts needed.

I am offering this bike for the price of $450 OBO, with free shipping, or a discount for local pick up in the Washington, DC area.

I want to sell it this week so I can use the money for a new commuter bike!
