When all else fails, Improvise
New tires from pbk arrived today, in my haste to install the tires and ride I snapped both tire levers. The skewer handle works great to finish installing tire

Throw the stick!!!!
I've had the priviledge of using quick release levers a few times in the past, always worked great.

I think the most interesting thing is that someone on bike forums only has 2 tire levers. I just gave away a set of three that came with my new bike to one of my co-workers, because my wife told me to. I think I had somewhere in the neighborhood of 12 tire levers at the time, letting me change 6 tires simultaneously, and while i have that many bike wheels hanging around I am seldom changing all tires at the same time.

There are people on here with a dozen bikes, seems like you might just acquire them. Personally, I keep 2 in my tool kit, 2 with my bike, and I used to commute on my bike so i would keep two with my commute bag so I don't have to move them around, and I have a set for my wife's bike. The bike shop I bought my last bike and my wife's bike gave us tire levers with both purchases. I mean they are about 2 dollars for a set of 3, if I break one, I have another set hanging around and I don't like searching for them so I just have too many.
Here is a better question, why do I own 2 pedal wrenches and yet until recently was on look keo's that don't even use a pedal wrench to take on and off. I acquire tools, much easier to store then bikes, but not as much fun.

Acquiring tools makes perfect sense to me, and acquiring levers over the years makes sense as well, but not everyone has been riding for years. There are also those who would just as soon have nothing to do with tools, which I can respect but not understand.
