Segment ride today, threshold-y, one long below, on short above. Channeled my inner Sagan / Wout and got second on both
On the second one (FF reverse), I had a sprint in me to grab the overall, but I thought it would be fun if I tried to "feather" it to land precisely between 1st and 2nd on the leaderboard. I nailed it . Also - I grabbed the screenshot right before crossing the line, but you can see from the time that I got it hehe.
1st would have been a hero level effort
nicely executed 2nd place

There are 3 or 4 rock chips in the hood that went down to the metal, one spot on the roof that I found, a little bit of rash on the forward front left wheel well, and a little bit of clearcoat scuffing on the driver side passenger door which would probably come out with a bit of polishing.
But no major dents or body panel damage.
I ran it through an automatic wash yesterday - need to take it to a manual place so I can scrub it a bit more and really see what I'm working with.

I have one, but only because it came with my Garmin HRM. But I have been known to use one of my watchmaking screwdrivers, jammed into the slot.

AI, in all its wisdom, decided I really meant to say ‘yawners’ instead of ‘years’. And chute instead of cute. Both changes make so much sense in context.

I never used anything smaller than a 10 at work. I had a set but would buy individual bits from the tool trucks as needed. Used to break a lot of them. Broke a lot of 30s doing charge port receptacles on Volt cars. Since I retired I found 2 30s on the road. They're about $50 from Snap On.

Need new socks. Years ago Mrs. bought a bag of black socks that fit great and lasted for years. Now they are wearing out so I ordered some Hanes and they are so tight I can't wait to take them off. Last time I bought white socks I had the same problem. Gonna try some Reebok socks next. Wish I knew what those old black ones were but they are unmarked.

Anyone have a recommendation for a head unit? I'm tired of my Garmin 520, especially since it stopped pairing with my iphone (which seems to be a known issue).
What I need - ANT+ and bluetooth compatibility for devices, ideally auto-upload through an app to Strava for outdoor rides. I don't really use any fancy map or route features at all, Strava live etc. Must have a lap button . So really simple, ideally a couple hundred bucks.

BTW, apparently I wasn't the only one looking for a ride without heroic climbing last night...
But I didn't see Eric F out there.

Nice haha. I enjoy that route a lot for z2 rides, it has just enough undulating terrain and varied scenery to keep things interesting. Especially in groups.
I raced a ITT on it once a few months back and had a lot of fun. It's a good course for me since you need to throttle it over/under on some of the ramps to get a fast time. Not just ramp it up to threshold and hold till you die

I'm having a bit of tightness in my left hip area (recurring problem), which I think I caused or aggravated by doing climbs 4 days in a row on Zwift, after getting the new trainer. So, the last two days I've TRIED to just do Z1/Z2, but instead I've been doing more Z2/Z3 - it's just more fun!
BTW, apparently I wasn't the only one looking for a ride without heroic climbing last night...

Damn. I like that route when I want a lot of steady-effort riding, but a few short punches to keep it interesting. Doing big climbs in Zwift has never been interesting to me. I've done the radio tower climb a couple of times, but never done the full Alpe or any of the others.

Yeah long climbs on Zwift suck - an endless push against trainer resistance. Epic KOM is about as long as I'll do somewhat regularly. And again it also has roller-y and flat-ish sections where I can get the flywheel some inertia.
AdZ - Did it religiously early on to get the Tron bike, now very seldomly. I put in a hard effort to PR before my hernia surgery and did a horrible positive split, went out too hard.... the last 10-15 min was awful. I think I got 46'. Mt Ventoux - Still haven't done. But I'll need to at some point just to "check the box" so to speak.
Did the London PRL Full once with some local race team members, chatted on discord w webcams the whole time. Would take breaks coasting down Box Hill. That is a lot of times going up Box Hill...
