1985 Eddy Merckx Corsa Extra Dura Ace 7400

Hi all,

I haven't had this Merckx for very long, and while I do really enjoy it, I recently picked up a couple other projects, and it might be a good idea to redirect the funds in that direction, also 5 bikes and I live in a studio apartment....

Anyway, it's an 85', Dura Ace 7400, very clean frame, any damage is noted in the photos, downtube nicks and chainstay nicks, other than that it's in good shape, seat is worn to the point of no label. Tires are pretty new, too. Size! 54cm.

$1,200. Will ship, can use whatever method you want, buyer pays shipping and packing by LBS. But can deliver/meet in Washington/Oregon (even BC).

Thanks!

Yep, 6spd DA.

According to the previous owner, it is the original paint. It looks original to me, but I'm not exactly sure.

So it appears I overpaid for this $1200+shipping/tax..... So, I'll leave it up here for a few days to see if anyone wants it and just take it down... Sorry everyone! It was my first Merckx and I thought it was a decent price.

Value is in the eye of the beholder. If it was the bike you wanted at the time, then you did not overpay. The problem is often "When am I going to see one again" and that may be never. I have had a couple of instances where I passed and have come to regret it. Probably more than if I had paid the asking price. IMO one should never plan on breaking even on a vintage bike. If you can, just hang onto it and enjoy it.

I appreciate that. I'll give it some thought. In the end it would be best to sell it, but maybe I can figure something out.

Not sure you overpaid, at least not by much.

While you have it in the stand, reroute the rear brake cable to the other side of the head tube.

have no idea but you will have better chances of selling (and not getting dinged by mods) if you edit your first post and put whatever your price is there. Details like including shipping or plus shipping will also help
