The For Trade/Pay It Foward Thread

At the request of a few members, with Mr. Christopher being the lastest, here is the Texas For Trade / Pay It Forward Thread.

Here are the rules:

NO mention of money. This is a TRADE thread only. Any mention of money will get deleted.

NO advertising. This is not for store owners or people who own some type of store and want to get their stuff out there. Any advertising will be deleted.

ALL trades need to be done via PM. Any conflicts do not involve bikeforums or its agents. Trader beware!

ONLY bike related items are to be traded here. Anything else offered up for trade by either party will be deleted.

IF you do not wish to trade the item, but just want to pay it forward to another user, that is also allowable.

There will probably be other guidelines we'll add on. Check back with this first post for any updates. If we see repeated violations, we'll just close out the thread if it gets out of control.

Trade on!

I have a Limo bike seat and rack, no manual though. The rack is seat specific, would like it to go together to a family that needs a seat.

Would like a underseat wedge for a road bike or a co2 inflator or any sort of bike tools.

Man I got tons of stuff...

Bontrage handle bar 600mm 25.4 DIA, 6061 T6 Alu:

Bontrager SSR stem 105mm 10degree:

Shimano FD-AX50 front derailer, Shimano RS rear derailer, Shimano Centeron shifters I think 12 speed):

Shimanop Acera RDM330 rear derailer (NOS for a mountain bike):

Handlebars - one came from a vintage Schwinn Super Le Tour:

Low end brakes:

Low end vinyl seat with springs, no tears but some minor rust:

27-1/4 tires, vintage but hardly used:

Brake handles~!

I'm interested in vintage or modern touring style pedals (like MKS touring pedals), I need an alloy (or chrome) 27.2 seat post, chrome/steel toe clips, alloy rear rack, I've been hunting for a nice Mixte frame too...

Also I need black rubber/plastic old style grips and I have low end mountain bike pedals to trade for road pedals.

Reflecto-safety goodies

I have 2 vests like this in XL: (lights up REALLY well at night)

and a reflective harness-like vest-y thing-a-ma-jig also in XL:
(can't find a pic of it but it is orange with white reflective strips)

Finally found what I need in size Woolly Mammoth so I don't have to "make do any more".

Free to anyone local (Dallas/Richardson Area) who can pick them up.

Anyone in the Plano / Richardson / Allen general vicinity have a spare V-brake I could borrow for a few days. I'd like to see if my Schwinn Crosscut can be upgraded to V-brakes from the current Cantilever setup before buying a set of brakes. I'll pick up / return.

I have a set of V brake levers/shifters (9 sp I think) that you can have if you want. I'm not sure of the functionality, never used them on anything. They have the inner cables, no outers.

I'm more interested in the brakes themselves, not the levers, but I'll keep that in mind TxVintage. Thanks!

I have a late 90's/early 2000's vintage MTB. It was given to me by a friend who was moving to California. I rode it many miles in 2004-2006. I will post pictures tonight. Free to a good home, but you must pick it up.

I have a late 80's/early 90's Letour size 63cm that is tallish for me.
Does anyone have a 56 or 58cm Letour frame (around the same vintage) that they would like to trade?

OR

I'd part with the whole bike (I have some 40 spoke wheels available to make this a very clyde friendly bike) in trade for an XS roadbike (44 - 46cm) tor the wife.

I still have the hi-viz vests too.

Edit: Dallas, North Dallas, Richardson, Plano....anywhere within striking distance...

Have For Trade:

1) 27" wheelset, Shimano High Flange hubs laced to Araya 27x1" rims. 36spoke, hand built. Will include virtually brand new Conti Ultra-Sport tires (1 1/8") and (Sachs 11-28 freewheel or Shimano 14-28 freewheel). Rear axle is currently slightly bent, but I have a brand new replacement axle waiting to be installed (if I can find where I put it during the move!). I've got some decent $$ in this wheelset and it's just sitting here since I sold my last 27" wheel'ed bike and I don't expect to be buying another one any time soon.

Looking for:

1) Anything with the words Campagnolo on them or associated with them.
2) good quality (modern) canti-lever brakes (2 sets).
3) Ritchey WCS drop bar in 44cm
4) let me know what you have, always interested in the interesting.

Pay it Forward: 20x1.95-2.125" tube.
frame triangle bag.

TRADE: Specialized Toupe 130mm for Toupe 143mm

Long shot, I know but I have a fairly new Specialized Toupe Ti 130 mm Saddle that is white and red. I would like to trade it for a 143mm Toupe saddle (any color) if anyone has a take-off or is looking for a different saddle, PM me with options. I would consider other similar saddle options.

Thanks,

I have a ton of 70-90's bike components a ton, I am intrested in trading stuff for:
a 56cm Giant tcr-II frame and fork, or something with a similar frame geometery and rather contemporary meaning from 07' up.
9-speed component group.
The stuff i have ranges from suntour, simplex etc.. and of all imaginable types of components. I am happy to take pics and list them if people are seriously intrested
I also have a 56 cm Puegeot 77' UO-8. It's in pretty good condition and i ride it as a commuter. I rebuilt it myself and alos have pics of this as well. responding here will get pics I just don't want to waste time posting stuff no one wants. I also have a 7-spee campy wheel set (tubulars) as well asa ton of 700c clinchers of the 32 spoke variety.

Bikes for Ghost Rider Memorials

I would like to start a Ghost Riders Memorial in Midland/Odessa. I need about 8 old bikes that can be painted white and placed at sites where riders have been hit and killed. All they need to have are frame, wheels, bars, and a seat.

If you know anyone I can get these from, there are some families who would be grateful for the memories of their loved ones.

Actually, these memorials should be going up everywhere to remind motorists that cyling does exist and irresponsible driving behavior has consequences.

Thank you

I have several bikes in my garage that I'm never really going to do anything with. Steel road bikes, basic quality, nothing fancy or collectible. I got them essentially for free and I'm willing to give them away.

All are either 58 / 23 inch, or 60 / 24 inch. Located in Richardson. And no I am not going to pack and ship but I might meet you somewhere that's not too far of a drive.

Could be used for white bikes, fixie conversions, turned into commuters, whatever.

PM me if interested.
