For sale is this gorgeous 1983 Colnago Superissimo. Seat tube and top tube are both 58cm CTC. Stand over height is 33 inches. I am the second owner of the frame, bought it from a fellow BF member. Blue paint and chrome are original and in excellent condition. Original owner removed the seat tube Colnago decal and the top tube Superissimo decal but supplied original replacements which will come with the bike.

Components are all Campagnolo Super Record, mostly Pat 83. Crankset has 170mm arms and 52/42 rings. Brake levers are perfect; hoods are excellent. The brake pads and holders on the bike are upgrades to improve braking response on fast rides, but the bike comes with Campagnolo pads and holders. Pulley wheels have been replaced with 10 tooth Shimano pieces, but the bike will come with some Campagnolo ones as well as another brake lever hood.

Wheels are hand-built Ambrosio Excellence clinchers laced to Record hubs; tires are new Vittoria Graphene skinwalls in size 25. Freewheel is a six speed Shimano UG, 14-28. Saddle is a Colnago branded X1 mounted to a Campagnolo seat post, but the bike also comes with a leather Selle Royal Concor in white. Bars and stem are Cinelli.

Cable housing is lined translucent from Porkchop with new stainless shift and brake cables. A set of Campagnolo pedals with toe cages and straps is not pictured but included.

Bike rides beautifully and presents well. Rode it in the Highland County Century in Sebring, Florida last year. Did the 100K ride in under six hours.

Oh, yeah. Pictures don't do it justice. And with those pulley wheels and Shimano 600 UG freewheel, it shifts perfectly, every time.

Yeah, it's a really nice example of early 80's technology. There's an option on a second set of wheels, too!

Not familiar with Colnagos, outside of later Masters, but that certainly is pretty. Good luck with sale!

I find a lot of Colnagos from that era to be much too gaudy for my taste, but not this. This is as handsome as any Italian bike of that period and genre.

Love that Super. I have one that is pretty close, only diff is my setup has more classic wheels, alum and flat profile, and 12-24, and beautiful cinelli white pref leather saddle. Do you have wheels that would be more eroica preferred? Would that swap be a discount?

There is an option for a alternative set of wheels, no price difference. They are Record hubs laced to dark anodized Campagnolo Omega Strada Hardox semi-aero rims.
Tires on that set are Vittoria Rubino Pro III black walls in size 25.
Like the rims pictured, they are a great wheelset in excellent condition. They are a mid-80's period rim...whether that makes them more Eroica-like is up to the buyer.

Really love this Colnago! It came from the time when I liked the looks of Colnagos the best. Before they turned into very gaudy carnavale peacocks on two wheels.

As someone who grew up in the 80's, I love the "gaudy carnival peacocks on two wheels", but will admit that this is gorgeous too. Love the look of blue and chrome (which is why I'm always pining away for a Gios). Glad you got your sale so I wasn't tempted to convince myself that 58 isn't too small.
