Use a cotton tube sock over your bottle.. if it is wet it will cool the bottle inside, by it's evaporation.

The biggest issue with beers in bottle cages is how explosive they get from the shaking. I have had slightly better luck with a handlebar bag - my North St. burrito supreme will fit three 12oz cans comfortably.
I’d never use a glass bottle - I’d go with a vacuum steel flask of some kind, or a can. Double koozies over a can will hold it in place reasonably well in most cages.

Back in the day (30+ years ago) we used to fill out panniers with ice and put six beers on each side. My buddy and I would split a case and would bike around half the night
drinking beers and stopping at various parks to play glow in the dark frisbee or swim in there pools after hours. The police would not even stop to bother us as we were harmless in our activities. You could follow us by the water trail left by our panniers but by morning there was nothing left but empty bottles or cans in them.

non drinker so it may not do if it has to be alcohol (it's an old thread anyway) but gatorade makes a size that fits in a regular bottle holder. usually get them for a dollar each at dollar tree type stores. or i guess empty one and put your beer in it.

i don't drink beer to know how well it would work (like affect the taste or whatever), but gatorade makes a bottle for one of their sizes that fits in a water bottle holder. has a twist top and all to make it convenient as a regular water bottle. a buck apiece depending on where you get it. empty and wash one out and pour your beer in it.

My current favorite, an IPA, wouldn't handle the jostling on a bike and then being opened. You'd end up wearing most of it.
