Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

New Bike: Trek Madone 2.1

After a long winter of researching bikes I finally found my new bike. I decided on the Trek Madone 2.1 (2013).

It has a decent set up. Mostly 105's and such.

And of course as soon as I got it home my wife was called into work, leaving me home with the Baby, and my brand new bike just begging to be ridden will have to wait a another day.

Nice bike, ride the hell out of it. 105 will serve you well for a long time.

The only thing I've ever not liked about stock Trek color schemes is the white saddle/tape. If you like it that's all that counts, but here's a before and after of mine:

Before, with white tape/saddle/cables:

After, with all of the above black:

Anyway, if you like white you're good to go. For yours you'd have to get black spacers, dust cover and a top cap, so it might be kind of a pain. Have fun and thanks for the pictures.
