I'm not one of those guys..........

Who ask for advice and then never come back to tell you how it turned out! I asked for bicycle advice with a $1000 budget. I explored every recommendation. I explored everything. I went on bicycle overload. I got to thinking I needed "this" and "that". Pretty soon, I was looking at bikes that cost twice my budget. They were nice but it finally hit me that I had strayed too far. Anyway, I drove the 140 mile round trip to my local bike store and returned with this today. I'm glad it's over. I feel relief. This bike was new but a couple of years outdated. Sora components.

That’s a really nice looking bike. I love white and I like the Cannondale paint scheme

Best of luck with it and thanks for checking back.

I agree, the white/black aesthetic really pops!

You must be a pretty tall fella, that looks like a larger-than-60cm frame. I hope it serves you well for many years to come.

I couple people ride those at our very slow group ride and like them ... one guy has his set up for serious gravel and it still works on the road. Pretty sure you will like it.

Not so sure I like the trend of sensible shopping though.

That's a solid bike. Sora is good enough for 98% of riders.

Thanks everyone. I ride 30miles/day weather permitting. That's on a Jamis mountain bike. I plan to ride every charity ride I possibly can this summer. I want to at least ride metric centuries. Wichita Falls and the "Hotter than Hell 100" here I come!

Yes, that is the closest physical bike store to me! Internet shopping has been a boon to some of us. Last night, I ordered a water bottle cage, a seat bag and a new road pump. It is wonderful to have all this shopping and information available even out in the boonies.

I'm working on that! I've lost 40lbs so far. All due to riding.

Damn, that's impressive. Keep riding. One hint: sign up for a fundraiser. It'll give you a target for miles and incentive to get out and train.

Plus, you'll raise money for a good cause!

Enjoy the bike! Looks like a nice ride.

This gets a second thumbs up, the first is for that Synapse, good choice on the bike and kudos on the weight loss. My CAAD 10 was my ticket to getting back to reasonable weight, up to 292, now below 200.

Cool looking bike! Congrats!

Just out of curiosity, where'd you drive to--Tucumcari, Amarillo, even further?

Sounds like you have some awesome rides ahead of you!

Bought the bike at Sun Adventure in Amarillo. Nice guys. Thought I was just going to look at a Synapse. This was a leftover 2016. I felt they made me a good deal at $700+tax. The man said free tuneups. Like I was explaining to the wife, how could I say no. "It followed me home"

Nice bike and deal. Your post got me thinking about a drop bar road bike. I’m riding a Quick 5 since my return to cycling. So, I go to the closest local Cannondale dealer today and the only thing they have is beautiful red Cannondale something or another for 5995.00. Yikes! Definately not in my budget.

I just read about the weight loss. Supreme congrats for that.

More for scoring a nice bike, but that is a lot easier.
