Tire Sizes
Looking for a tire for an Electra Townie 7D. Tire size is 26 x 2. Not finding many but 26 x 2.1. Would that work? Or would I have issues with the fendors, which I have.

.1" is between two and three millimeters. Look at your current tire/fender clearance and figure out if it'll work.

Even among different brands of tires of the same rated size, there is more variation than 0.1". How much clearance do you have at present? You could always go down to a slightly smaller size such as 27x1.74 or whatever with minimal penalty for commuting use. The quality of the tire, and whether or not it is puncture resistant (per your preference) also matter.

My lady has a townie 7D, though hers is the commuter version and a 700c bike. The tire clearance on those bikes is rather generous. I believe you can fit up to a 26x2.35 so tire choices for it should be almost unlimited.

The world is Metric, when you walk into a bike shop you will see a number on the side wall of the tire
ETRTO is that standard setting organization, so rims and tires fit, no matter what the source.
1st is the bead seat diameter, 559 is your cruiser/ MTB 26" the other is the width..
given 1 inch is 25,4 mm, 2 inches is 50.8 mm, so rounding ,, its a 559-50 tire , wider is 559-60..
If still Fractional? Schwinn did that they would be incompatible... not a 559 diameter bead seat..
