Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Interestingly the $1400 Tricross uses the ACE 19 rim with stainless eyelets, the BD bike uses DC 19 rims that don't have eyelets.

No, just a sign. No markings to tell who put it up. I'm guessing not the State or park officials.
It's a nicely wooded area with a couple of creeks and lakes right in the middle of suburbia. I wouldn't be surprised if the bats like to flap around there in the twilight.

That's a bat box.
The dark areas at the bottom are from where they fly into the box.

Anyone know anything about the windsor frame? Different from the Motos? It's a good looking bike.

Hmm...could be. But it's so narrow I didn't even think it could be a bat box. I guess it would make more sense than a random bat sign.
Here are some pics a bit more to the side. You can make out that there's a slot at the bottom, but also how flat it is:

It's the exact same aluminum frame and geometry as the Moto Fantoms. The flat black looks pretty cool in person; glad I chose that over the gloss white. It's relatively light, but I've never weighed any of my bikes, so I can't tell you much other than it's ok on the road and lots of fun off road.

Its the same as the motos, which is actually a Fuji frame. I have one, and I find it to be exceptionally stiff.

The build kit is also very similar.

Definately a bat box..

I've got one.. It's amazing how they get in there, you have to remember, bats are small and here's the kicker, a whole family for generations will live in that box.. It's totally crazy.. I've got one in my yard to help control mosquitos.. It actually helps..

Cyclocross bike in winter commuting mode:

More info: https://velospace.org/node/16410

It's waiting on funds to get some traditional bend and wider bars and new wheels (either OP to Record, or just some used Mavic wheels).

The Gunnar Crosshairs, set up for general off-roading shenanigans.
Two weeks after this, I decided it was time for something completely different. So, I put on skinny White Vittoria EVO tires, two bottle cages, removed the rack and swapped the cassette for a 12-27t. Voila. Instant roadbike.

My poor carbon Giant is gathering dust. It's an awesome bike - lighter, better components, more modern - but it's no match for the fit of this bike and the feel of steel. The Giant goes for sale this Spring. Steel is Real.

LOVE the Gunnar^^^^

Had to sell this one because it felt to small and just couldn't get the power down. It sure was pretty though.

Sweet ride schnee, I feel you on the selling the road bike. I sold my cf road bike 2 months after I got my soma dc. I just liked the ride of the soma with road slicks better than my cf road bike, no regrets.

Update on my cyclocross-built converted-from-an-MTB bike.
The frame is similar to this:

with 26"/559mm wheels.

Then I cut the brake pivots, slap on 700c wheels, install 700x38c tires, and convert it into this:

Later on, I realized that aero brifters doesn't work well with old-style long-reach side-pull caliper brakes. So I re-weld those brake pivots, bolt on a set of old Deore LX canti's, do a little this and that, and it goes like this:

Thanks a lot!
Actually, it's 50mm... not much of a difference
I guess it's because of the classic-bent dropbar I use, if I use longer stem then I'll have a lot of trouble reaching the drops.
perhaps a modern anatomic bent dropbar (with straight section on the drops) will be politically correct (for use with longer stem), but for now, I like this setup.

It's probably because MTB frames usually have a longer top tube than a road/cyclocross frame. Nice looking conversion though, good job.
