Fuji s12-s mixte/womens bike
What do you think of this 20" Fuji s12-s for $175. I'm not interested in flipping it, I want my girlfriend to be able to put some smooth touring miles on it. With a handle bar swap and a rack I think it fits the bill.

The S10/S12 was nothing special but they make decent riders. I would have a hard time paying $175 for one but it is hard to find nice mixtes, so the price may be what you have to pay to get one.

That's kind of what I was thinking as well, and u wasn't exactly looking for a mixte, I'm just having a hard time finding something decent for her 5'3" 28-29" inseam

Still learning
Depending on where you live, that mixte is on the low end of FMV in an active bike market metro area.

If this were a 56cm men's S12 I would say the price is too high. But thinking about it some more, and considering the relative rarity of decent mixtes, I think the price is fair.

I have seen a lot of mixtes lately
I sold Motobecane mixte yesterday that was close to mint
was not easy to sell
I paid 50 put 30 in new tires and 2 hours labor, greasing and tuning it
asked 150 got not bites, asked 125, got a hundred dollar offer and took it
they are not easy to sell
I am not greedy and am happy to see someone get a good bike
that will have fun with it, a bike that was not road ready when I got it
I like to make a little money with my hobby
but also feel good putting vintage bikes that are not road ready back on the road, I have put about 450 vintage bikes back on the road in the last 5 years. In order to move that many you have to be willing to bargain, move them and go to the next one

+1 the price is actually a on the low side for a Mixte with decent alloy components, wheels and a triple. I see mixtes that aren't nearly as nice selling pretty regularly for $200. If everything is good it should fit the bill for a smaller sports touring bike on a budget.

It's like real estate - location, location, location. In my market at this time of year, that would sell for $100 to $120 tops. Come late August when the university's fall semester begins - $175 to $180 is quite possible. At the end of the spring semester, I could have a chance of buying a similar bike for $40 or less at the university auction.
