I don't see a need to DIY a silly old kickstarter idea that is out of business. If they were a truly great idea they would still be in business making tons of money, they weren't they got their Kickstarter finished and tried to keep going and failed. Plenty of excellent lights on the market that work well and will be around a while.
DIY is great but honestly with a well saturated market of excellent lights I see no need to DIY anything unless I truly couldn't find something I am looking for.
