Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Has anyone tried epilators. Thoughts?

I started shaving recently and it looks better when I have lycra on, and just feels sleeker. And I've recently gotten a few compliments from women on how healthy my legs look. But... And when I use a razor my legs are all prickly a couple days later. Has anyone tried epilators? I heard they do a better job than both razors and electric shavers, in the matter of minutes... but I don't want to permanently damage my hair follicles. So epilator once in awhile for a thorough job and razor for the usual maintenance? Thoughts?

Have you tried an electric shaver, or a beard trimmer? Epilators hurt like hell.

When I first read the thread title I thought it was about elliptical cranks. How I wish it were.

Has anyone suggested wax yet? Oh yeah. Great minds and all that stuff. Short of laser treatment, the best alternative.

I've honestly thought about it. I'm fairly hairy and just 24 hours after a leg shave, I'm very prickly. I'm not sure I'd want to bother with waxing appointments. I don't even know where to go or how much that would run.

There's an eppilator on Amazon with good reviews for only 30 bucks...

Considering that I'm a good 7-8 on the chewbacca scale, this is instant aerodynamic improvement without the pain lol, I use them....

I've been shaving my legs for over 30 years ... and I've never tried epilators. No thanks!!

Shaving only takes a few minutes in the shower in the morning ... and then you can happily wear your skirts to work.

Cecil the lion never shaved, and people who didn't even know him wept when he died.

Just sayin'

Many, many years ago, there was a product called the Epilady which was from Israel and supposedly very popular with Israeli women, or at least, that's how they marketed it.

Anyway, all I can say, is those Israeli women must be tough.

This thread has tons of potential!

Note: it's always best to NOT ask questions about shaving.
