The front derailuer on my Masi has a bad reputation for getting froze/rusty/corroded. Last ride, there was light rain. I dried it & cleaned it. Locked up bad. Used lots of w d 40 wannabe on it- backforthbackforth... Lube. More w d 40. . . . workitworkit . . . It works better, but not good enough so the spring will pull it into small chainring. What else can I do?

Front derailleurs are cheap-ish and easy to install. Get a new one and keep on top of the lube better next time.

Check the cable and shifter they may be gunked up as well.
Work the FD with cable detached and it should free up.
