Ha.

It's tricky to do both at once, try it!

Oh God yes. I miss having a set, even though it's been six years since I sold them - they were too big to move down South (they were big ol' PVC drum rollers from the 80's or something). Every year I tell myself that this is going to be the fall that I buy a new set, and every year some other priority rears its ugly head. This year, it's shoes. I need shoes much more desperately than I need rollers.

Went out to do intervals but legs were dead, turned around and went home. Three hours of weed pulling yesterday took a toll.

Finally got my trainer back from the shop after a month. Celebrated with a short easy spin.

Finally upgraded from my Garmin 705 to a 520.

No more plugging in my device!! Which sounds simple, but I the VM I was using didn't always recognize it, and I had to upload the file twice (once for WKO, once for Strava).

Now it all just automagically syncs, no cords involved. And using WKO4, I don't have to upload it there either. More time to post meaningless stuff like this!

Wko4 is still annoying and confusing, but I figure I'll get the hang of it after a week or so.

I have the nashbar set, which im sure are the same rollers..works for me.

Ive found that anything over 300 watts or so and I'm really spinning out..but then again if I'm doing anything like that it will be on the trainer. I don't trust myself at that high of a cadence for long periods of time on them.

Lots of commuting this week as the weather is too nice to be in the car. My heart rate on the 3 minute climb I have was lower today than earlier in the week.

dropping the PSI in your tires helps a lot to get more resistance. that being said, i'm looking to upgrade to some inside ride ones this year.

did the famed morning ride here today. basically would bridge up to every move and sit on to kill it. Waited until about 90s from the last sprint, there is a little riser. It got strung out and I was sitting 3rd or 4th wheel. As soon as the leader cracked a bit I jumped. Told my friend from the noon ride that I'd get him the sprint, which we did, 2 away by maybe 7-10 seconds. Pretty fun.

Weirdly one of my road bikes feels about 20w heavier. I was on the fast one today and it felt waaay easier than tuesday. Might be time to investigate the heavy bottom bracket. Probably too tight.

Is that the "green man" sprint at the firehouse?

yes, but I pulled benkowski to the line and he rolled around me. I can't take the green man and then never do the ride for another year

I envy you. I love weights but i've already got the density to last me my "career".

Z1 commuting today, tomorrow open, then 3 last chances over the weekend to get 1 more road point.

hills today, always nice to see a few watts improvements on most hills where i'm about able to do 325w over a 3min span as opposed to 300

I probably outweigh you by 15+ pounds. I like lifting, so I lift. As I learned last off season just take it easy on the upperbody stuff and you'll be fine.

Yeah, fair enough. Last winter I started doing M/F weights, then regular 12 hour/week bike schedule all the other days of the week. I was super slow on the weekends, but was handling it pretty well until I went too heavy one day for a minor injury that spooked me out of heavy weights. That kind of schedule probably isn't sustainable, so I figure I should prioritize the pedaling. Do you replace bike time with weight time?

I usually do weights Monday AM with an easy spin PM allowing me to get back after intervals Tuesday. My workouts are more towards gstein's approach rather than doing a ton of mileage, but I do longer rides on the weekends so I get some of that to. Shoot me a PM if you want more in depth discussion I don't want to clutter this thread

This morning I woke up and for the first time since crashing my elbow didn't hurt. It's still sort of uncomfortable to flex it all the way, feels like the joint wants to pop like a knuckle cracking, but it's not really painful. Road rash is all healed, but it's still scabbed up where the stitches were.

Sadly CTL is the lowest it's been since November 2013.

Probably better here than the Days of Our Lives Thread.

I solo crashed today.

So did my former pro friend that I was riding with.

It has been ultra wet recently even for northern Florida and we were crossing a wooden bridge. We were taking it easy (18 mph) and chatting as suddenly he goes down. I ride for a second and look over my left shoulder (with that tiny bit of counter steer you need to do) trying to say "You OK" and before I get the words out I am on the deck.

Imagine a wet railroad rail that is 40 feet wide attempting this.

Neither one of us hurt badly, but we will have some really nice bruises.
