I use WD-40 and a rag to floss the cassette between chains. When doing a chain the cassette comes off for a thorough cleaning.
As for White Lighting, I've use Clean Ride, and Easy Ride, for dry conditions and Chain-L for wet/foul weather. YMMV

I’ve done the flossing method, I couldn’t reach the back of it, didn’t know the extremes people would go through to keep a cassette clean. I clean my chain with the brush and the degreaser, the lube it and after about 50 miles its really bad. Not using the best product. I was gifted white lightening or christmas, figured I would use the until it’s all gone.

PS remember to wipe down chain really well after you lube it. That could be one of your issues. You want the chain dry on the outside and lubed at the rollers/inside.

I hope you are right. I can wait another year or two. But the intel I have heard says Shimano unlikely to go to wireless shifting any time soon. I know about the patent they filed, but likely that’s for the distant future. Do you know otherwise??

Kids and I are out and about in Richmond and I just got word that my FIL finally passed.
Sad, obviously, but I think there's some relief being felt, too. He'd been bedridden and incoherent for days. I know that the long, mostly sleepless overnights were taking a toll on my wife, too, and she was growing resentful towards her mother and brother because of the division of duties, etc.
I suppose we'll be here at least a few more days to help my mother in law navigate this new stage.
Sad, obviously, but I think there's some relief being felt, too. He'd been bedridden and incoherent for days. I know that the long, mostly sleepless overnights were taking a toll on my wife, too, and she was growing resentful towards her mother and brother because of the division of duties, etc.
I suppose we'll be here at least a few more days to help my mother in law navigate this new stage.

p.s. for my beater SS I just use a home-brew of 75% mineral spirits and 25% motor oil. It's almost as good and dirt cheap.

will do, just want to use it all up before I buy something else. My friend swears by tri flow but I don’t seem it mentioned much on here.
On another note. I leveled up today. Successfully clip in without looking and while actively pedaling. I’m ready for my tdf.

I have to say that I did find some of what Sram did when they came up with the 12 speed stuff questionable. Larger rollers in the chain, 1.1 mm different size bb bearings . That god forsaken rear hub arangement. All to force the customer to spend money. No half upgrade, its all or nothing. $800.00 for a crankset? Wtf over? I kinda want Shimano to come out with something to slap Sram in the teeth a little bit for all of that.
It works well, I like it, but that Force stuff and the disk brakes are boat anchor heavy. I'm looking forward to riding Contadore, now that I have a Red compact crankset on him we are back close to 15lbs.

I'm experimenting again with wax. I'm using a bit (maybe 10%) transmission fluid with my mixture. Seams to help it flow. So far it's pretty clean, and appears to be lubricating well.

Pretty much all wet lubes are a mix of oil and a carrier/solvent. There may be flakes of magic graphite or nanoparticles of Teflon to reduce friction but I suspect they are all similar in effectiveness. The only downside to my cheap home brew is the mineral spirits take a couple days to evaporate, the better lubes use a more volatile solvent which means the chain is ready faster.
