Does anyone know where I can buy "colored tires" that doesnt cost an arm and a leg. I enjoy personalizing my stuff, and having a new road bike soon is something I look forward to modding.

The type of tires I'm looking for are something like this. It's not fully colored, only the sides.



I'm assuming this brand is more on the expensive side? I'm not a professional rider or racer, but more into this for looks and modding. I'll ride ocassionally once in awhile.

The cheapest tire you can find that has a colored sidewall is the Michelin dynamic sport. They are heavy, wire bead, 30 TPI tires, but they are usually only about $15.00 each.

700x23 or 700x25 it is really your preference. I like wider tires on narrow wheels (19mm), but narrow tires on wide wheels (24mm).

Came back to say that if you are buying a new SuperSix EVO you really should consider going with GP4000S2's for your colored tire needs. They are kind of expensive, but you will get your money's worth. They last a long time and the ride will be SOOO much better than the cheapest tire you can buy. I'd go 700x25.

Vittoria Zaffiro Pro's come in a lot of colors. If you're patient, you'll see them pop up on chainlove.com for $15 or so each.

Most expensive mod will be the wheels. I'm looking at the shimano dura-ace WH-9000 CL35 or CL50 clinchers, not sure which one yet. I want this bike to look super sporty and aggressive.

Will this wheel set 'Shimano Dura-Ace F&R 11-speed Wheelset WH-9000-C50-CL-All Size' fit my bike? I'm assuming so, since it says ALL Size? Does this mean its universal? I want to be sure before I spend 2k on this. :/

A correction from my previous post...Zaffiro's have a solid tread color, not just the sidewalls. Vittoria Rubino Pro's are available with a colored sidewall but still have black tread. If they still make them, I think Specialized Mondo's are also available with a colored sidewall.

What is the factory crankset that you'll be immediately replacing? Of all of the mods you suggest, that's the one that really jumps out as frivolous. Many people routinely upgrade wheels, try different tires, replace the platforms, and swap saddles, but immediately replacing a new crankset seems crazy to me.

It comes standard with a FSA Gossamer Pro, BB30, 52/36. I can probably just put it up for sale and use that money towards my new crankset.

I get the impression the bike will be for looks, not for riding.

700 x 23 are the "standard" size, but many people like 700 x 25 because they give a bit more comfortable ride.

Nothing at all. I'm modding this bike purely for asethetic reasons. I want it to look nice as well. I'm more form over function.

Might as well get 700 x 23. Doesn't matter if you will hardly ever ride it. The wider the tire, the softer the ride, but the more likely to have clearance problems on some frames.

That's fine. 50-36 or 50-34 is ok too. Won't matter much.

Is the frame made for BB30 size bottom bracket ? There are several sizes of bottom bracket, so you need to match the frame to the parts.

Okay can someone tell me if 700x23cm tires will fit with the shimano dura-ace WH-9000-50CL wheelset?

They are offering lots of sizes which all seem very similar and it's confusing me.

Those are all the same size tire. Whoever wrote 23cm is typingly challenged. They'll all fit that wheel.

All I know is my Cannondale comes with FSA 52/36 and its a 48cm frame.

In that case you want the new FSA K-force 4 arm crankset. It looks badass.



For wheels, the deeper the better. C50s are nice, but the aluminum brake track breaks up the blackness of the rim. I think you want some full carbon clinchers. Check out the Easton EC90. And don't forget to slam your stem.
