BMC Bikes

Hi,

I am looking to purchase the BMC Alpenchallenge AC02 Deore, 2017 model. I can't find much information on these

online, so wondered if anyone has any experience with them?

I am looking for a Hybrid bike i can ride around the city and out in the countryside at the weekends.

...also please let me know if there are any other options I should look at around the same price point.

Thanks for your help!

Buy the BMC, Nice bike and it should do what you want. I just noticed the price is around $1K. If I was in the market I'd be looking at that bike. On top of that, you don't see a lot of BMCs out there, you'd stand out. A great platform to upgrade on when the time comes.

I'm sure that the BMC is a nice bike. But I would still shop around a bit to see what I could get for $1000 or less. Here are some that I've seen:

Polygon Bend FX4 $919
Polygon Bend FX4 Flat Bar Disc Road Bike - Nashbar
Pro: Tiagra 10-spd, disk brakes
Con: Unknown brand, few sizes

Cannondale Quick 2 $999
https://www.rei.com/product/108564/c...ck-2-bike-2017
Pro: SRAM Apex, 30mm tires
Con: Rim brake (well, not that bad but that's IMO)

Diamondback Haanjo $899
https://www.diamondback.com/city-bikes/commuter/haanjo
Pro: 40mm tires, price, disk brakes
Con: Sora

Raleigh Redux 3 $899

Pro: Deore 10-spd, disk brakes
Con: 25.9 lbs

Planet X Kaffenback $945

Pro: DB Steel frameset, SRAM NX1, disk brakes, 32mm tires
Con: price, Shipping?

Bianchi Strada $800

Pro: Steel frameset, price, 32mm tires
Con: Claris

GT Grade Flatbar Elite $899

Pro: disk brakes
Con: Claris

Felt Verza Speed 20 $999

I spent over a year looking at high-end hybrids and finally settled on the BMC AC02 Alfine 8...could not be happier...live in a very spread out city and its been perfect. Like the poster above said, very unique bike....had it for a few months and still have not seen another one. You're looking at Deore so I'll stay away from the Alfine stuff but....the frame and workmanship is top notch and the bike is crazy FAST! Not to mention it's the best looking hybrid out there
