Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

Welcome to my fleet.

The bike that first got me into single speed/fixed gear.

Old Rattle-can painted single speed Fuji Conversion. Put on a 16t freewheel and re-dished the wheel myself. Simple quick conversion on my part but still needs a rear brake.

My new baby.

53cm BikeIsland Wheat Frame. I built, trued, and tensioned the rear wheel up myself. First wheel build ever. And yes, I know the blue tires do not match the bike. I just used that parts that I already had on hand but I don't know it's kind of growing on me.

My all-around campus beater with a special visitor.

Thanks Costello & Gyeswho! Well, after months of smuggling parts into the basement, and putting things together while he was out - he caught me! But he loves it! Test ride was great!

I figure I will finish it with a plain white turbo or rolls saddle!

My Langster Boston. 4 days old. I love it. It has a decent weight to it. Its also really fast. Flipped the wheel over to fixed after 2 days. Im learning pretty fast. I was going to build a fixie but I got a great deal on this. The bike shop was nice enough to swap the 110mm stem for a 75mm. I could of just swapped the bars but I think the bars make this bike. I have plans for pedals, tires, new seat and tape on the bars.

It could be a real photo using a tilt-shift lens. It's hard for me to tell.

More tilt-shift:

then it's a poorly executed one. the last thing tilt shift lenses are good for is taking pictures of flat objects parallel to the picture frame.

and i think it is because i got a sarcastic pm that pointed to that direction.

Hard to say. That isn't even bokeh.
One can only assume it is because it is much easier to google 'photoshop fake tilt-shift' and apply a plug-in than to learn how to use a camera properly.

To the untrained viewer's eye, there is no difference.

Compare film to digital and you will open an entirely different can of worms.

I don't care what anyone says, you cannot replicate a great print from a large negative with a computer.
All of the top magazine photographers still use med./large format slide film.
