New Frame

Got hit by a car and need a new frame. Insurance is going to cover it... Any ideas anyone? Looking for something solid that I wont mind riding around the city for around $1000.

$1,000 for complete or frame only? I assume you can salvage some of the parts, minus wheelset.

Surly complete build?

IRO - money left over for whatever.

I got another bike to ride so a frame or a complete, doesnt really matter. I was looking at a bareknuckle, my buddy has one, I like um. Yeah my roomate said "congratualtions you lost your cherry. Everyone eventually gets hit in SF." I left a pretty big dent on the hood of his beamer so at least I left a mark. Oh and helmets are awesome everyone should wear one.

Would the cinelli vigorelli hold up well on the street? I am not going to be babying it by any means.

Never ridden an aluminum track frame before so just wondering

If you have the coin & patience I would watch the eBay auctions coming up. There have been many nice frames up for sale of great craftsmanship that have gone for great prices. Just make sure to check more thank just eBay in America.
