There are a lot of bad things happening in the world, but I think that we can all band together in denouncing this heinous act -

I assume that we still can't post links to redd it, but you can search for the post if you need to do some hate-reading today - "My husband believes running pizza under water to cool it down is acceptable"

I *hate* looking at something and thinking, "the amount of material and work that went in to this is NOT worth $xxx"
....but if you look at the convenience/utility, it's still hard to argue the value proposition on some things, and a quick link is one of them, IMO.

If you stand on the pedals and the chain skips over the teeth on the cassette you need a new cassette. When this happens it feels like you are stripping a gear and it is violent. This assumes obvious things are checked, like chain wrap around the cog and derailleur tension.
Is this the same bike that had the chain hanging limp? I hope you got that sorted before you put on a new chain.

After changing an 11 speed chain, and setting a Shimano quick link, I'm not sure you can seat one of those on the road. I was worried about stomping the pedal, and it wasn't happening by hand. I used a large set of snap ring pliers, and it took some force to seat it.

When I put my chain on wrong last time, before I realized it was wrong I had seated it by stomping on the pedal. It worked fine.

Awesome! I'm supposed to do Alpe de zwift tonight with the guys. They're kicking the absolute poo out of me 3 nights a week. I don't suppose tonight will be any different.
Edit: Now that I think about it. I should look around and see if I have a climbing cassette somewhere. I just realized I'm doing all this with a 53/39 and 25 x12 no wonder I'm grinding all the way up.

I agree. I was in a rush when I ordered and didn’t realize the chain came with the pins, so now that I have them, I’d rather use them.
