I carry a paper mask, thin wallet with ID and cash, phone and a snack in my jersey pocket.

I have been putting these items in a zip log bag. Mostly protection from sweating but occasionally from rain.

Works well but after a while it the bags do not close well or in some bags the tab used to close it falls off.

Someone mentioned in another thread of a waterproof bag they carry in their jersey pocket with essentials.

Any brands, recommendations, suggestions?

You could use a small, lightweight dry bag. Sea to Summit is a brand that I use for bike packing trips that definitely keeps my dry things dry. You can frequently find them on sale at Sierra.com.

Ziplock bags are going to be your best bet. They are cheaper and easier to use than pretty much anything else.

I tend to go with quart size freezer bags. Even when the seal stops working, just folding the bag over is enough to keep everything inside dry.

I would look at camping, hiking or kayaking dry sacks. They come in many sizes. You may end up with multiple bags if you're wanting all those things in your jersey pockets.

I use a plain ol' Ziploc sandwich bag - good for a phone, a few cards, cash and a mask, no tab to break off, and they last a couple of months before they accumulate enough scuffs and holes to render them not fully waterproof - just reach into the kitchen drawer for another as I head out to the bike. Everything else I carry (mini pump, snack) can stand to get wet. The other upside is that (for an iPhone at least), the touch-screen works through the bag - no need to pull the phone out of the bag to stop/start Strava, for example.

I use a Lezyne Caddy Sack - Small for my flat repair odds & ends that don't fit in my downtube storage and it has worked great for this. Since I rarely need to put on my mask I vacuum sealed it to keep it free from getting funky and just put it in my center jersey pocket. If I need to use it I wash it when I get home and vacuum seal it up again. Phone and a very thin wallet go into a zippered jersey pocket on the outer side of the mask pocket and which protects them from sweat.

I use neoprene bags. One for the phone is a sunglasses case with drawstring and cord clamp; the other is a zipper card case type for ID, CC, & $. Both I think found road-side.

- plenty waterproof, even for downpours
- not slippery- stays in jersey pocket
- cushions phone from back and if dropped, etc.
- not sweaty

Check out LokSac bags on Amazon. i used to order them to protect my phone in my jersey pocket, before phones were essentially waterproof. They are offered in different sizes and last quite a while before wearing out.

I always carry my id, money, debit\credit in a zip lock back and it works perfectly.

For mask storage I’d keep with ziploc plastic bags. Easier to be sure you have a clean bag for storage.

So you are saying that where I store mine on my gravel bike, which is an exterior open mesh pocket of a feed bag on the bars, isnt ideal for keeping it clean?
Its at least folded a few times to keep the inside clean, but I have walked into a Cstore with it and been more embarrassed for the dusty looking mask than for what I am wearing in the random Farmville gas station.
