Why not ask your local Trek shop? There might be a batch being unloaded at the port right now but that doesn't mean that your local shop will have access to it.

I just checked for ya, and the 2015 Shift 3 and 4 are both currently available from Trek. Most shops won't stock much of the new stuff until the older stuff is sold to make room, but they should be able to order it in if it's what you want. The 2015 Shift 3 is listed at $659.99 (which is the same as the 2014 model) and is available in either "starry night black" or "titanium." The Shift 4 is listed at $709.99, and is available only in a "gunmetal" color.

As far as pricing goes, I don't know where you're seeing a reduced price for the new model. The list price is set by Trek, but shops are free to adjust those prices however they see fit. For example, 2014 models might be reduced to closeout prices as the year progresses, or they might have special sales, price-matching deals, etc. According to Trek's dealer site, however, both the '14 and '15 are listed at the same advertised price of $659.99.

In my LBS, they have the '15 listed for $599price than the '14 listed for $659. However, when I bought the '14 (before the '15 had appeared), they told me in the store that the bike was on sale for $599. What really angered me was that different clerks gave me different prices, and there was one that tried to sell it for $659.

I went to my LBS Friday to get some gloves and look at the Shift 2. I looked at the Shift 2 and also at a Shift 3 at the suggestion of the sales person. The Shift 3 has a lot of extra features that make it worth the extra money in my opinion. If Trek has the 2015 Shift 3's available in Black and Titanium colors why is Trek still showing the 2014 Blue Shift 3 on their website? The local LBS knew about the new colors also.
Breakawaycycling.com has the 2015 models on their website with the new colors for $659.

I just bought a 2015 Trek Shift 4 today, ordered it, $600 bucks plus tax I tested rode the 2015 shift 3, it was nice, but I want the heavy duty stuff.
They saw my point.

I bought a Shift 3 about weeks ago. Have about 200 miles on it. It rides and shifts very nice. I am adding fenders at the checkup. After riding on wet roads several times I got tired of getting the road crap on me. During the rains I managed to find places to get out to the rain but I still had to ride home. Nasty.

That is a great price. That is what I paid for my Shift 3 back in May, and it was supposedly on sale. I had bought the Shift 2 but basically had to upgrade because the grip shifters were awful.

I took my first ride with new Trek Shift 3 on Sept 22. I now have 641 miles on it and have am averaging over 36 miles per ride for November. Hope to get my first half-century this Sunday. Great bike.

I now have 60 miles on the 2015 Trek shift 4 I wanted to take it with me on vacation to Missouri and ride the Katy Trail, but in reality I would not have had the time to do that so I left it at home. So when I got back I rode and rode. I gotta say it is a pretty sweet ride, I like that the crank is a bit forward, I did 16 miles on Saturday and not a leg or knee problem. I installed a rear pannier rack, now waiting on the bags to arrive.

I do realise this is an older thread but the boss in my home (wife) has given me permission to purchase a bike this year. And am wondering those you that are riding the Shift 3 how you are still liking it?
