Your cog is slipping.
We got them a couple of weeks ago. The color is super nice and very similar to a blue Bare Knuckle.

I will mostly be riding it with my kid and my dad, an on short mid week fitness rides.
The wabi would be more raid oriented, but I would probably build the Staemroller up with more of a gravel/cross vibe.

Ok, that looks pretty rad. Now I have to decide if I want to build a Staemroller up or buy a wabi. Kinda torn in what I want it to be since it will be my first fixed gear (and probably only)

This is kind of what I am thinking. I love Wabi's (I'm a sucker for lugs) and I love Richard's philosophy (hopefully that will continue), but the Staemroller seems a bit more versatile.

I know a few Steamroller frames came in yesterday, we just haven't updated the online inventory yet. That's Angie's dept.

I'm trying to make the trip down to the shop to have a look, I live in South OC. Hoping to take the wife to San Diego for a weekend and just happen to "stop by".
It's more of a budget issue at the moment since I will need to buy everything from the ground up.

Somebody must've dropped a line that inspired the new colorway after referencing how the previous color looks like water and how it has "worked its way down the previous model year".
They didn't mean it but product thought they did and the people that sign off on such decisions had enough faith in their product team that even though they had a bad gut feeling about it, they still signed the go ahead.

How Surly manages to get away with some of the colors they do is beyond me. At the same time their "Spray Tan" and "Moonlit Swamp" were killer.

I'm undecided. I don't hate it. I think it would look good if built up with the right components, just not sure what those would be.
This is coming from a guy who stumbled into a Steamroller in the color some folks have described as "bloody stool." I love that bike, but don't really care for its color.
