Another useful angle would be the hub body and if there are any markings or stickers on it. Also, do you know if the skewer is original? I know Moto put their stamp on some components, but I have no idea if that included skewer nuts.

It was an interesting question, so I did a search in a variety of ways. I did find lots of "vintage" Motobecane axle nuts but all of them were basically the letter M surrounded by a coloured background, so while that could be an MB logo it didn't come up anywhere. Also tried a google image search of just the nut and it also came up empty.
