Fake ride done with Zoom chat. It was advertised as a social/recovery ride, which for me is around 1.6-2 W/Kg. The pace was faster than that, with much of the ride at around 2.2-2.5, which may be recovery for some but after a hard ride yesterday it was not easy. I still hung in there and as usual, fake miles are better than none.

First road ride since Feb. 25 is in the books. The knee winced once or twice, and I am so far walking normally. I thought of another knee exercise I can do to help strengthen it. The Brooks was mostly more comfortable than expected, and shows promise after complete break-in. It was nice to get out there again.

Now that I have mastered the French Press, I am frustrated by the 5-6 minute wait just to boil the water on the stove. What’s the word on electric teakettle or equivalent? Is it demonstrably better or faster than a stove-top pot?

Not only do those things boil water wicked pissa fast, you can get one that’s thermostatically controlled for 200° water, which is superior for coffee. I drink very expensive green tea and like my brewing water at 165°. Hard to do on the stove.
