Di2 Handlebar Junction Box Rattle
Hi all.
Recently got a new bike with the Di2 junction box located in the drop of the right handlebar.
Problem is the thing sounds like its rattling around a bunch on anything but perfectly smooth roads. Especially noticeable when I take my hand off the handlebar.
Curious if anyone else has experienced this, and if they've come up with some a good solution.

Shane Miller uses a zip ties in the frame and it might work in the handlebar. He also wraps the wireless unit in handle bar tape to stop rattle in the bars.

Interesting, thanks for the reply.
Think the zip ties would definitely help on the internally routed cables in the stem. I'd be slightly worried about connection issues wrapping my wireless unit in electrical tape. Wonder how his has held up.
Might just be a "take it to the LBS and have them figure it out" issue at this point haha.

I just watched another video. Check this one out, same guy at 10:50. He wraps the wireless unit in bubble wrap for his wife's bike.
I watching all this stuff as I am on upgrade path from Ultegra 8000 to Ultegra Di2 and I am trying to figure out the best wiring path for my needs.

If it's a new bike, the shop (from which you bought it) should handle it gratis. I have the same junction box on my bike, and it's as quiet as a church mouse.
Just a tip: if you don't have the bluetooth module on your bike, have the shop add it when they fix the rattle. It's not expensive, and it's a great feature.

Yeah... I have also used bubble wrap on mine and used a piece of cloth in the past ;-)

Ya, I ended up talking with the bike shop and they said they would work some zip ties into the frame to see if that fixes it. And I will be sure to request they only use the far likely-far-superior Shimano zip ties for the project. Have to imagine there are some substantial performance benefits there. Just hope they don't go releasing a new model in a couple months and force me to upgrade!
And I second the comment on the wireless unit. I got that installed when I bought the bike and absolutely love it. Being able to flip through screens on the hoods is awesome. Plus getting a readout of the gears and Di2 battery level is really nice. Definitely something you don't know you need until you have it.
