Shimano 105 vs. Bontrager Race---Cranks
I am looking to upgrade my cranks set without spending alot of money. I have narrowed it down to two sets---Shaimano 105 and Bontrager Race. What should I go with? Thanks

ultegra 6500 double cranksets are $69 on clearance sale...

you will need an octalink v1 BB of the right length to go with it, I believe jenson also sells 105 octalink BBs.

The Bontrager Race cranks are Truvativs... they are nice. The new 105 set is very nice though, however. I've always been impressed with any bearing Shimano produces, and their new bottom brackets are no exception. I would lean towards the Shimano myself... never had a problem with any of their cranksets and always had clean shifting. That being said, I have a Race Lite on my current ride and like it just fine.
