One more vote for the dyno hub: Shimano DH-3N72 feeding a Lumotec IQ Fly. I can't imagine needing more photons unless I was riding offroad. I probably should upgrade crappy old blinkie ziptied to my back rack, though. Need to wire up a proper taillight but haven't decided on how to run the wire yet. I also keep a small blinkie on the back of my second helmet which is what I usually wear at night.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
I ran mine from the headlight, along the underside of the downtube, under the bottom bracket, along the left chainstay, then up a rack tube. A ziptie at each corner seems to keep it in place just fine.

for somebody who's been using a PB Blaze 1/2 watt, I wanted to share my excitement about my new MTE SSC P7 900-Lumen 5-Mode Super LED Flashlight. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Today I finally got batteries and charger and I took them for a spin. I think I blinded like two dozen folks. One cyclist came to a complete stop just so he could stare. the MUP i ride on for a few miles in the woods, completely lights up. What a feeling that now everybody can see me. I feel safer at night than during the day.

Share the road.
p7 and superflash
I have the P7 mounted on the bars with a twofish velcro, and a superflash mounted on the rear rack.

You know what I haven't figured out yet is why no one has coupled a generator with an LED set. No batteries to ever recharge.

I've got a cheap Raleigh LED and a Maglite LED on my front (use the flashing function on the Raleigh for visibility, use the steady beam on Maglite for seeing), and a Superflash on the rear.
When I get a computer though, I'll probably get rid of the Raleigh - the Maglite is plenty bright

A FENIX 2 x AA L2D flashlights is over 6x as bright in comparison, and that's considered "low-powered" in today's arsenal of LED lights.
Might be time for you to upgrade.

I am running a Magicshine 900 lumen light,to see with, a Blackburn quad, to be seen with. I also roll with a Down Low Glow for side visibility. I have a PBSF mounted on my rear fender, as well as 2 no name 5 led blinkies mounted on the v-rack uprights. That about covers it for the bike.
I roll with a lighted reflective vest and a light on my helmet.

The B&M lights on the Bianchi? For where I ride that bike, yeah, it's enough. I almost never end up on high-speed unlit roads, so all it needs to do is make myself more visible and fill in the gaps between streetlights. If I were trying to cruise over 20 mph, I'd probably have a Cyo or Supernova instead.

If you're running a mini-Maglite or that 2xAA version of it, you're missing a world of lighting. The mini-maglite is so low-powered that it's not even considered a player in the "to-see" category of bike lights. (Ok as a "to-be-seen" light.)

Also, I could be wrong on this, but the last time I looked at FENIX lights online, the recommended ones for commuting were ~ $40USD. After currency conversion (to CDN) and shipping, that would be much more than I paid for the Maglite (got an employee discount on it), and overkill for my use.

What is it and how good is it?
I'm still using a nite rider classic 12 volt system with 32 watts of halogen lighting... and a darn heavy NiMH aftermarket bottle battery.
I have the nite rider rear flasher and a battery 5 led blinky and a PB superflash. From behind, I look like a UFO.
From the front, I look like a motorcycle.
But I would love a redundant light set up for those days when I forget to charge up the monster battery.

Bike ≠ Car ≠ Ped.
The pictures are of my B&M DLumotec LED headlight and Selectra three-LED taillight. They're not the brightest generator lights out there, but they're bright enough, and they'll last as long as the bike itself without me having to touch them again.
You wondered why nobody runs LEDs with a generator; I'm telling you it's been done.

But still wondering about the set up... as chip points out it is good redundant lighting.
My redundant lighting was two fold. I had an old C battery light (you can see it on the handlebar pic above.) The other redundant lighting was a Sanyo Generator set (the light on the front rack). The Sanyo generator was once my primary lighting... but it has fallen to second place to the niterider setup... and sadly the generator bit the dust a few years ago.
So what I am looking for is a generator set as redundant, and a good LED set as a backup to that.

Nexus Dyno Hub / Miyata Super Beam
Almost all of my bicycles are Japanese Commuter Bicycles and so far my favorite is the Nexus Dyno Hub with a Miyata Ultra Laser Beam Headlight.
For additional flashing light I mounted the BP headlight - 7 White LEDs and 5 Orange LEDs.
Miyata PTF Stainless Max - Stainless frame, basket, carrier, rims/spokes, fenders, handlebars, and stand, Nexus 3-Speed IGH & dyno hub with Ultra Laser Beam, Air Horn, umbrella holder, Hard Lock, Belt Driven, and long circular spoke mounted reflectors.
