I feel naked without the SPD's. Tried riding my fat bike with flats on it and laughed. SPD's went on asap. Once I went fixed, I knew that SPD's would be the only way to go for me. I don't see how cages or straps would offer enough retention as being clipped in would offer. Of course, when I was avidly mountain biking, I only ran SPD's after trying them once. Been like that for years now.

straps don't hold a candle to clipless. i love em to the point where i considered running a strap on them just for peace of mind. the only nice thing about straps is being able to wear your regular erryday shoes.
was a scary crash since it came outta nowhere. initially, i thought my chain snapped.
on a sidenote, my friend would always warn me to never run SPDs since they unclip easily and often.

SH51 "Single-directional Release" cleats only release when you move your foot to the sides.
SH56 "Multi-directional Release" cleats release much easier. You can angle your foot up and they will release. These are for beginners.
Many get the 56 multi cleats by mistake and decide that SPD are junk when they really should be using the 51 single cleats.

You can under certain circumstances, but typically the seller has to agree to it. Sometime the high bidder is just a shill, to get higher bids. If you think you bid too much, just refuse to pay.

I never place a high initial bid in an auction, and wait until the last few seconds to snipe with whatever max amount I am will to pay. Usually that results in my winning the item for a lot less money than if I engage in a bidding war. It also means I won't get suckered by a shill.

Today I did 30 miles. Had to map it out on Google afterward because Strava went bonkers on me. I checked it halfway through my ride and it told me I had gone 40 miles at an average 49 mph. Probably got some sweet KOM's.
Goal for this month is 200 miles. Should be pretty easy to meet.
