My bad, that was the original MSRP. Looks like the market decided to take it elsewhere

I hope you learned your lesson. Never share an ebay link that you intend to win...

Now catch my bike next week in the picture megathread to see it's new cranks and completed philsexyness.

I hate that about ebay, however, this helps with that sometimes.

I love that software as a seller of bike parts. It appears every cyclist buyer on ebay is a sniper.

I once had a wheelset jump from $400 - $800+ in a matter of seconds toward the end.

Yeah, I think everyone uses these...it's so hard to bid on things the old fashioned way. You basically have to ask yourself how much would you pay for this and hope someone doesn't want to pay more than you do. Then in the last minute the bidding skyrockets. I lost so many damn wheelsets that way. Rapha stuff is also ridiculous..."oh, this jacket is a 1/4 of the price of what it is new and there's only 30 minutes left, I'll bid on this!" then in the last 30 seconds the thing sells for more than retail.

Yes, in reality eBay auctions are a week's worth of advertising with 30 seconds of mad bidding. It all makes sense, but I hate it, so I almost never bother.

on Gixen. Use a sniping service is waaaaaaaaaaaaaay more rational than getting into a silly bidding war. If you want something, just "set it and forget it". If you want it badly, just put in a higher bid.

I've lost plenty of auctions in the last few minutes and I've come to use a similar strategy. I just make sure I'm by a computer when the auction is ending. I wait until there's 7 seconds left, place the highest amount that I would pay for it and then submit. The time doesn't allow anyone to respond and if the high bid is higher than my max, its for the best that I lost. Usually, the high bid only goes up $5-$10. I do all my auctions like this. If you bid early, people will start a bidding war.

I know this is the complete opposite of what the seller wants, but I'm in this for myself!
