Aero bars can be handy for accessories though the small diameter isn't ideal. Light in front, GPS mount on right, bell & computer on left. Cue sheet holder doesn't look too classy but works OK.

Haanjo EXP cockpit with two Topeak accessory bars is a work in progress. This Cateye computer doesn't work with the light on plus the Ortlieb bag blocks lower part of light beam. I need to devise a fork crown mount for the light; unfortunately most battery lights don't have an optional fork crown bracket.

Touring fat bike. Not seen is a recently added trigger for a dropper post.

Touring road bike

Normal drops

Flared drops. My hands fit the drop position better when the tent drybag is on.

Well- If I'm going to do something stupid- Might as well go all the way!!!!
Inspired by department store bikes and their bar ends, I had an epiphany - Why NOT go ahead and mount them in reverse????
It looks silly, but oh my gosh, for the first time ever, I have been able to sit completely up and fully enjoy the scenery around me. I've still got the downward position in front when it's time for business, but, now I get why people ride beach bikes and such. So ugly, it's laughable. Even looks a little like a beach bike from 20 feet. What a world that has opened up!

Nice bike. What frame is that?

It's little wonder you feel better riding now. The drop from saddle to seat there is pretty steep and would put a lot of weight on your hands over an extended distance. The look of the new position of those bars is somewhat reminiscent of the Nitto Bosco bar https://www.rivbike.com/products/nit...m-x-25-4-16240

Thanks for the link! That is a very close bar to what I'm looking for. The frame is a Schwinn Cimarron.

I love the Bosco bars as Happy Feet has mentioned, but I absolutely love the Jones 2.5 H-Bar. My wife has the Bosco Bullmoose on her bike and she loves them. I love the Jones bars because they are so versatile. Also, for what its worth, if you are heading towards more upright riding, you'll probably want to replace that ass-hatchet saddle as well.

Bike packing cockpit. Since my last post I have a much better GPS that lasts more than 8 hours. My tent, sleeping bag, camera and some food are held in a Revelate Design Harness and Pocket.

Cool bike & must have a super-comfy ride. In the 70's some folks mounted drop-bars upside-down & mounted the road levers underneath the "drops".

^Thanks, LOL- I even considered doing something like that as a drop bar conversion (riser bar conversion?) I'm all confused now!

Anway, the Nitto bullmoose bars were ordered. And this just after I cut all that fancy JAG cable to short lengths to fit on the straight bars..

I got a good ride in today on the Schwinn, and that thing is stable. Loaded and no hands needed at 13mph and up! Don't try this at home kids!
