I don't know what value could be added by upgrading shifters on a bike you are planning to use on a trainer. Getting eh bike to function properly and keeping it as-is seems to be the smart choice.

Also, adjust your saddle so it is almost level when viewed from the side. If you ride it as you have it now you are going to give yourself carpel-tunnel syndrome.

I updated the thread in post 24... I kept it 3x7 after a thorough cleaning of the brifters, once it got nice and warm outside...

As stated above, yes, it looks funky, but feels good on the trainer for some reason... Maybe just this particular seat. But it is better than the original ROCK it had on it from when the bike was new. I see a trip to the bike collective coming soon and snagging a few different seats.

I have tried that exact same saddle years ago, and my friend used one for a few years. It is a bit of an odd duck (in my opinion) in that it does feel better a tad nose down, but the way you have it is crazy. Seriously, if it feels good like that, it will feel even better a few clicks up.

I'm fine tuning still. I'm also riding with an air cast boot on my left foot. So that might be part of the current issues... yeah, indoor only...
