1996-1998 Cannondale F600 Delta V - Is 650B upgrade possible?
Greetings all,
Did some googling and found one thread on MTBR but it was inconclusive...
Does anyone here own an F600 Delta V? Trying to convert it into a fun gravel bike.
I've upgraded the bar and made it into trigger shifters. Just found a headshok stem for $20 so I'll be upgrading that in the coming days as well.
I can't post links yet (since I don't have 10 posts) but can provide one if needed!

you really need to try it yourself with borrowed parts
Have you thought about using 700c wheels with gravel tires? Many make 26rs into monster cross bikes along with drop bars.

It's pretty unlikely you can move the brake pads up far enough. But it's a MTB so the bottom bracket is high enough you can just put 1.5-1.75 slicks on it, like commuters have been doing forever.

Ha, I've just recently started thinking about this myself, but not too seriously. 😉
I just bought a '95 Killer V (fully rigid) earlier this month, and love it. I've never really looked into 27.5/650b before, but I guess most people are these days. That or 29ers.
I've read a couple short articles, cautioning people about the changes in geometry, BB clearance, and tire clearance. It looks like my Killer V might barely make it, on the tire clearance (where the chainstays are reinforced, near the BB), but I know any suspension would need even more clearance. 🤔
If you can easily borrow someone's wheels & tires, I'd definitely do that first. Otherwise, it might turn into an expensive experiment, gone bad. 🙁
But good luck, I don't " know" that you'd have any problems, just saying, size it up good first. 👍

Its pretty old. Get something with disc brakes, and a good drivetrain. Try used , less than 5 years old will be light years ahead of what you have now.

Not really worth it, the small increase in rollover at the expense of a higher bb. Higher bb = less stable cornering. Let the old dog be and get a modern bike. It's literally like going 25 years into the future.
