A couple of BF'ers have purchased from "stair guy" on eBay before. And I've read nothing but positive feedback about his work. Seems to really do quality work.

Synchronicity - we see his ads on the Janesville WI CL, and we've always referred to him as the "stair guy". Indeed, some nice work.

Is very legit. (The man knows what he has, is a C&V bike guy! Has some great bikes!) Frame has significant corrosion. Chrome is in rough shape, but still a good deal!

Has come up a few times in the past. I know for a fact at least one person has bought a bike from him but hell if I can remember who it was. Here's a couple cases from this thread alone.

Don't see these everyday (Vancouver B.C. area)

I don't know if the price is good for a sextet, but I imagine they're open to negotiation...

24 1/2" Raleigh Pro with most of the original Campy parts. If it were smaller or I were taller, I'd find space for it.

^^^^^^ Looks older than an '87. Then again, it is 6-speed. Speaking of which, the "all campo components" include a (wah-wah-waaaahh) Helicomatic.

It should definitely go in the Tandem Cycling forum in its "Tandems found for sale" thread.

Why the pass? From pics it looks like a no brainer.

Putting this up to see if anyone has info about the brand. I found some pics, but that is about it. Too big for me. I think there is a BF member that lives in Fredericksburg.

MOSI GS 58cm Shimano Ultegra 600 - $850 (Washington)

image 1 of 7

© craigslist - Map data © OpenStreetMap(google map)

bicycle frame material: steel
bicycle type: road
brake type: caliper
condition: good
frame size: 58cm
handlebar type: drop
make / manufacturer: Custom Built
wheel size: 700C
This is a beautiful bike, custom built in Switzerland. The frame is a 1979 MOSI GS. Very light but durable steel. It has Shimano Ultegra 600 parts and Maverick tubular rims. I have refurbished it with new Victoria Rally tires, new Forte Team alloy seat post, and new Planet Bike seat. Most of all, this bike is super fun to ride. I will be sad to see it go, but I am trying to lessen the collection. Thanks for checking it out.

Sounds like you're slipping, nowhere near the C+V OCD we expect around here, "not about the bike".

Meant it sort of the other way 'round, but I know what you mean. If it had been based on the bike, it was a buy for sure. And it wasn't easy to pass . But my daughter took priority today. In my C&V defense, I'm that guy who, this summer, it was pointed out, thought it was reasonable to buy a complete bike on eBay, (a too small, 1971 Gitane TDF) to replace my Campy seat post binder bolt that had just snapped. That went fine, except for one little thing... Now I want one (with Willow leaves of course).

No worries, we'll give you a pass this one time, don't let it happen again.

All of that logic is spot on IMO, the Gitane could be made whole or provide other parts as well, could the daughter be a recipient of the fine Gitane?

Sad? Wacky? Looking For?

Vintage Woodrup Road Bike - $1000 (Oxford)

Posted 2019-12-21 21:09 (Discovered if one clicks on the "posted xxx ago" it displays the post's actual date and time stamp.)

"Vintage Woodrup 531 ST with # 5525 stamped on the bottom of the frame
This is a classic English road bike. Woodrup hand builds a few hundred bicycles a year. From the research I have done it looks like this bike is form the 1980's
The frame has a decal with S M Woodrup on it
The rims are Wolber Modele 58 Super Champion
The handlebars are Cinelli Xampione Del Mondo 66-47
Keo toe clips
Compagnolo brakes
Suntour derailer
Suskind Cranks
Avocet Gell seat ( not in good shape)
It will need tires, has some rust on the chain and a few components
I will gladly answer any questions you send. I don't know much about high end bikes or components. I can meet in Raleigh or Durham if desired
I tried to provide as many pictures as I could, but I can send specific pictures if requested.

bicycle frame material: steel

bicycle type: road
brake type: other/unknown
condition: good
electric assist: none
frame size: 25 inches
handlebar type: drop
make / manufacturer: Woodrup
model name / number: 531 ST
serial number: 5525
suspension: none (rigid)
wheel size: other/unknown"

https://raleigh.craigslist.org/bik/d...042767519.html

(Maybe a Steve Woodrup (the son)? Does that dropout appear cracked to anyone else?)

Definitely wacky - 1k for a hard-used Woodrup with what is likely a replacement fork and mostly lower-level components which are equally hard-used.

Predominant non-drive photo for the win

That was my first thought, but my second was that at a tenth of the price, and if the dropout is not cracked, maybe?

Seems the seller isn't so sure themselves. as they've posted over in Appraisals.

Though relatively local, I've no connection with the seller.

The fork looks bent to me. There's not a lot of space between the front tire and downtube, particularly for an English bike that should be able to accept fenders. the condition makes it a rider at best.
