Poel is also 24 but has won Amstel Gold this year and is a very talented rider. Very promising prospect. He's from Belgium but is registered as Dutch.

Brandon has had a couple hard years. Last year crashing - twice, hip, concussion. This year sick. I think that all counts. But I also think ... we shall see.
There is a bigg difference between a few hour power and multi-day GT ability. Like comparing a miler (runner) to a marathon runner. Cycling likes marathon types (I like shorter). As such I don't see our cx guys really making the transition. Brandon is still TBD - but I think my best bet on the new big thing - other than our TdF winner :-)

Evenepoel also looks like he could be very, very good. Well, he already is very, very good, but he looks like he could also be among the elite of the next generation.

I don't know if van der Poel is GC material. Is he too big to be a great climber? If he devotes himself to road racing, he's going to tear up the classics and win some sprints, that's for sure. If he takes the rainbow jersey in Yorkshire and then only does road racing part time, that would be a little strange. Does anybody know when/where he's moving teams? Cause clearly he will be.

I do agree he's in line to replace Sagan when he's done. I believe van der Poel will be in that category also. We'll probably see quite a few battles between the "van" boys.
Remco and Kuss, I think will be more GC type contenders.
